Subaru WRX STI: More power & free SatNav
Tue, 05 Apr 20112011 Subaru WRX STI - gets free extra oomph The new registration has come and gone and unless you’re offering a must-have convertible or something shiny and new it’s getting close to the time when car makers need to offer more for no more to shift metal. Cue the Subaru WRX STI. Subaru has decided that it’s going to offer a chunk more performance – and a SatNav – without charging a penny more on the WRX STI.
Subaru BRZ STI teased
Mon, 05 Aug 2013Subaru are teasing the BRZ STI (pictured) The Subaru BRZ – the Subaru take on the Toyota GT86 – has the potential to be a lot more hardcore than its current setup allows. That has led to much speculation that Subaru will bolt a turbo on to the BRZ’s Boxer engine to produce a BRZ with something closer to the 300bhp we originally expected. In fact, at the end of 2011, Subaru in the US confirmed there would be a turbo version of the engine in the BRZ, although they fell short of actually confirming the BRZ itself would get it as an option, but at the end of 2012 we had a report that the BRZ will get the turbo engine and that it will deliver 280bhp.
Volkswagen NCC concept
Wed, 20 Jan 2010Volkswagen's New Compact Coupe (NCC) concept previews the next Jetta, but with two-doors rather than four. The car's front - minus the hybrid-style closed grille - pretty much represents the new face of the sixth-generation production Jetta due on sale this November, and its syling is informed by the latest Polo as well as some recent concepts from the German brand. Read our opinion of the NCC concept's design in our 2010 Detroit Auto Show Highlights, and see more photos of the showcar in the photo gallery below.
