BMW Megacity Vehicle (2013): the first pictures

Fri, 02 Jul 2010

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 02 July 2010 00:05 BMW has issued this first design sketch of its innovative new Multicity Vehicle. The BMW MCV won't be launched until 2013 and this is our first look at the new electric city car.The Multicity Vehicle is designed for the growing number of 'megacities', that is metropolitan areas of 10 million or more. Big conurbations like London, Los Angeles and Tokyo are being joined by more and more sprawling cities in China – and BMW is confident they will change the way urbanites drive around.BMW Multicity Vehicle: the detailsThis design sketch of the BMW MCV shows a compact city car, not dissimilar to a Smart in spirit.

Jaguar designer creates personal car

Mon, 01 Sep 2014

JAGUAR'S Director of Design Ian Callum has created a one-off car as his perfect idea of a Jaguar saloon car. The redesigned Mk2 is a classic saloon from the 1960s and has been restyled by Callum as part of an 18-month project to build his perfect car. Built by British restoration firm Classic Motor Cars, the Callum Mk2 retains the flowing lines of the original but they have been smoothed off.

Goodwood Revival 2011

Tue, 27 Sep 2011

The middle week of September was a crowded one for the CDN team with coverage of the Frankfurt motor show but we still found time to get our period tweeds out and head down to Sussex to cover the Revival weekend. This historic motor racing festival runs over three days, with Friday set aside for qualifying and practice, and races on Saturday and Sunday, with aggregated times to decide the final winner. Special themes this year included 50 years of the E-Type and this years' Fordwater Trophy grid was composed exclusively of this classic front-engined GT, including Lightweight and Low Drag versions that took on the Ferraris and Cobras of the period.
