Umea Institute of Design degree show 2009
Fri, 17 Jul 2009Masters students from Sweden's Umea Institute of Design recently exhibited their final-year projects at the university's annual degree show. Featuring the work of both graduating diploma students and those completing the first year of their MA in Transportation Design, this year's exhibition brought together a diverse range of themes, ranging from futuristic interpretations of existing brand DNA to new concepts in car production, usage and forms. Lexus teases Frankfurt SUV concept (2013)
Tue, 20 Aug 2013Lexus has released the first picture of what’s expected to be its new SUV concept car, bound for the Frankfurt motor show in September 2013. Clearly set to employ the sharp-creased design and huge ‘spindle grille’ cues from the current Lexus range – not to mention the LF-LC coupe concept – Lexus is nevertheless staying tight-lipped on details of its new model. We’ll see the car revealed completely in early September.

Despite being labeled as the ‘Demio’ in the official Japanese pics, Mazda’s small Fiesta rival will continue to be known as the Mazda 2 in Europe - but unlike the last generation it will only be available as a five-door hatchback. Made in Hofu in Japan, the Mazda 2 adopts the firm’s Kodo design language that was first seen on the Mazda 6.
