Dacia parades machine gun-equipped Duster
Thu, 05 Dec 2013THE ROMANIAN military has apparently displayed an armoured and machine gun-equipped version of the humble Dacia Duster 4x4. The army-grade Duster has been given a degree of bulletproof plating, as well as under-body armour for the most vulnerable areas like the engine and fuel tank. However, it’s the remote-controlled machine gun mounted on the roof that’s sure to raise the most eyebrows.

Fri, 16 Oct 2009The new top of the range Ford Fiesta Titanium Individual Despite the success – or perhaps because of it – Ford are having a play around with the Fiesta range and adding a new model at the top – the Fiesta Titanium Individual. The new Fiesta lineup now consists of Studio, Edge, ECOnetic, Zetec, Titanium and Zetec S, with the Individual standing at the top. The Studio now comes as either a three or five doors and gets electric windows thrown in; the new Edge range gets AirCon as standard as does the ECOnetic (something we asked for when we did the Fiesta ECOnetic review – Ford must have been listening again?
Bridgestone reinvents the wheel
Wed, 11 Dec 2013THE WHEEL is being reinvented with the development of an airless tyre for cars that could put an end to punctures and be kinder to the environment. Currently being developed by Bridgestone, the Air-Free Concept Tyre has an exterior tread that looks normal but inside there are plastic spokes that support the outer casing. This does away with the need to pump up the tyres, which means a puncture is no longer a problem as the tyre cannot deflate.
