Audi TT (2014) first official sketches

Thu, 20 Feb 2014

By Ollie Kew (images by Auto Bild/Larson) First Official Pictures 20 February 2014 11:00 Official Audi design sketches revealed today show the exterior styling of the new TT coupe. Festooned with cues from the original 1998 TT – something of a modern classic – the new car marries typical Audi cues with sharper, more aggressive details. Coventry University degree show 2011

Tue, 21 Jun 2011

Coventry University recently held its annual degree show, showcasing the works of more than 100 graduating students from the school's five different design disciplines: Automotive, Product, Vehicle, Transport and Boat Design. This year's show took place over two floors and two wings of the School of Art and Design's Maurice Foss building, adjacent to the famed Bugatti building, which houses the programs' digitizing and modeling laboratory. And with all the varied design disciplines mixed together, walking around the entire exhibition took rather a lot of time.

The Porsche P1 is lighter, greener and more exclusive than McLaren's new hypercar

Mon, 27 Jan 2014

Long before the legendary Porsche 911 -- before, even, the Porsche 356 -- Ferdinand Porsche was tinkering with alternative powertrains and designing road-worthy vehicles. Though it wasn't the first vehicle to bear his name, the “Egger-Lohner electric vehicle, C.2 Phaeton model” was the earliest result of his efforts. Perhaps getting the jump on the modern alpha-numeric craze/plague, it was shortened to a simple “P1.” The P1 (we'll refer to it as the Porsche P1 from here on out to avoid confusion) made its first appearance in Vienna on June 26, 1898, and it didn't last long in the public eye: Before Porsche decided to pull it out and put it on display, it had reportedly been sitting in a warehouse, untouched, since 1902.
