Original factory dealer service manual. First printing September 1972.  Measures 8 1/2" x 10 5/8". Cover is scuffed around the edges, back cover is dirty. Thankfully, there are still enough wealthy people in the world who don’t give a fig about the opinions of the eco-mentalists and who are inclined to buy the best that car makers can produce, regardless of eco-sensibilities. Which is why we can still glory in motoring delights like the Aston Martin One-77 even if its £1.2 million price tags is beyond the reach of most.

Swinton Insurance claim quote requests for bigger cars are down 20% Swinton say that it has seen an increase of 25% in quote requests for smaller engined cars in the last six months and a decrease of 20% in car insurance quotes for cars over 1.8 litres (which, short of the big-engined cars being scrapped begs the question: What’s happened to the big-engined cars? Did they just disappear, or are they just not being insured?). But this got us thinking.

Volkswagen of America Inc. has released new teaser images of the mid-sized sedan slated for assembly in Chattanooga, Tenn. The German design influence is apparent in the three renderings, which show front, side and rear views of the coming sedan, which is larger than the Passat.
