Up for consideration is this mostly complete Triumph TR6 engine. The serial number on the block is CF24432UE. My research tells me this came from a 1974 TR6, carbureted model. As you can see from the photos, engine is missing a few items such as carburetors, alternator, fuel pump, fan, distributor cap and wires. I have a flywheel for it which is included, but not pictured. I have never personally heard this engine run, so I am selling it as a core, in "as is"condition. The previous owner was a knowledgable Triumph guy who removed it from the car and told me it was a good running spare engine for his TR6. I would not be hesitant to hook gas up to this engine and give it a try if I needed a engine for a TR6, but NO GUARANTEES.... It turns over easy with a socket wrench and seems to have good compression, but I have no way to accurately check it. Engine has been stored in a garage for about 25 years. Local pickup of this engine is OK, if paid in full in advance. I have a cherry picker engine hoist and will help load it up. Shipping will be the responsibility of the winning bidder/ buyer. If you use the Buy it Now feature, and need this engine shipped, I will put it on a pallet, build a wood frame around it, and seal it up with cardboard for no additional charge. I will also assist the shipping company of your choice get it loaded on to the truck. Get shipping quotes from zip code 94558, Napa, California, USA. Full payment is expected within 7 days of the end of this listing. Paypal, Cashiers check, or cash payment accepted. Once again this engine is sold "as is", "where is"  with no guarantees, but if you are looking for a replacement TR6 engine, I think you will be happy with your purchase. Thanks for looking.

£54k insurance fraud foiled by black box

Thu, 01 May 2014

A fraudulent £54,000 insurance claim following a crash involving a car and a lorry has been found bogus thanks to a black box device fitted to the car. Three passengers in the lorry claimed for personal injury damages after it was shunted at low speed by a Vauxhall Astra. However, the Astra was fitted with a telematics device that, when examined, revealed that due to the size and weight of the vehicles and the speed of the Astra, the claimed injuries were implausible.
