Voilvo has been cold weather testing the electric C30 at temperatures as low as -20C We do have more than a degree of scepticism when it comes to electric cars. Actually, it’s not the electric cars that cause us to be sceptical, more so the claims – or a lack of transparency - by car makers, which gets right up our nose. There’s an implication that the electric car is a replacement for the ICE car.

The Frankfurt Motor Show 2009 runs from 17th -27th September to the public Many of the Japanese makers will be conspicuous by their absence, but that should be more than made up for by the launches from the big European makers. And of course the Koreans – in the guise of Hyundai and Kia – will do what they’re starting to do in the market place and fill the gap left by the Japanese. Saab deal with China not valid says Pangda Chairman Update 10 am 12/10/11: Saab & Pangda have issued a statement about this story and say that the reports of the Saab deal with Pangda and Youngman as being no longer valid are “…based on a misunderstanding”. Whatever that means. Yesterday there was yet more speculation that Saab will be declared bankrupt as real doubt about the deal with Chinese companies Pangda and Youngman started to surface.
