This is an auction for a 1976 Sea King 4 hp Outboard Motor by Chrysler, sold by Montgomery Wards.  This engine has approximately of use on it and was run in fresh water only.  The motor was bought for a spare motor and was stored in the boat.  As a result there is a small chip in the prop.  Because of sitting, I had to clean the carburetor and while the hood was off, I took a couple of pictures to show that it is new.  It may need some fine tuning because I did not add gas to the engine because of shipping.  Model No. VWB 52004F.  Serial No. 48X 23799.

Yes, we still believe – certainly with the current and prospective battery technology – that the only real use an electric car has is as a small urban runaround or a local deliver vehicle. But that doesn’t stop us being impressed by the Tesla Model S.

The SMMT are reporting that sales of electric cars in the UK have fallen by 20 per cent in the year to date (2012). Despite every green evangelist proclaiming that electric cars are the way to save the planet from imminent doom, UK car buyers obviously disagree. Despite a taxpayer bribe of £5000 to buy an over-priced electric car, car buyers have not exactly taken to the EV in droves.

The spring edition of Car Design News’ quarterly interior design publication, Interior Motives magazine, is out now. This issue features in-depth design development articles on the most interesting and important concept and production vehicles from the recent Tokyo, Detroit and Geneva auto shows.  The cover star is Nissan’s IDx concept. Displayed in two different forms – sporty Nismo and laid-back Freeflow – the project was carried out with input from 30 young, fashion-conscious members of ‘Generation Z’ (born post-1990).
