Up for auction is a new old  for a 1977-79 Continental Mark V.  This was purchased by the previous owner of my 1977 Mark V Cartier around 1990 when he had the car repainted and various other things done to the car.  At the time he also replaced many trim pieces on the car with new old stock, including this mirror and never used it.  I did not use it myself because there is only one and I want the condition of each of my mirrors to match, and also because it is not heated (while the original on my car is).

This mirror is in beautiful, unused condition.  There is just very light pitting at the top of the mirror housing, and just a light "spot" (for lack of a better term) within the coloration of the left side of the brushed metal face.  I polished the metal with P21S metal polish.  The mirror's glass is just slightly aged, but still excellent.  If you would like the original Ford box that is pictured here, please advise and I will include it.  If not, I will keep the box for myself.

Shipping is via USPS Standard Post or Priority Mail.  At the end of the auction I will need to add my cost of the shipping box - $7.12 - to the final invoice, so please wait for me to send my invoice before you pay.

Please write with any questions, including if you need more pictures.  I ship worldwide.  This is a 3 day auction.

Please also see my other Lincoln Mark V parts for sale.

Thanks for your interest.  Good luck.

Lewis Hamilton on Pole for 2014 Italian Grand Prix

Sat, 06 Sep 2014

Lewis Hamilton on Pole for 2014 Italian Grand Prix F1 hasn’t been kind to Lewis Hamilton in 2014, especially with Nico Rosberg running in to him at Spa, but Hamilton is back on track with his first pole position since May and, better still, he did it by leaving Nico Rosberg in second place a comfortable 0.274s behind. That performance will no doubt help Hamilton’s state of mind as he battles Rosberg for the drivers championship, but he still has a mountain to climb as Mercedes’ sanctions on Rosberg don’t include a ‘resting’ race to level the playing field. And with just seven races to go, a 29 point deficit is a big deficit to make up.

Hyundai makes Kia’s Peter Schreyer Hyundai design guru too

Sun, 13 Jan 2013

The newly appointed Kia President, Peter Schreyer, has now been made Hyundai President in charge of design too. Peter Schreyer’s success in making Kia a real design force led to him being appointed a Kia President at the end of 2012, handsome reward for the changes he’s wrought at Kia since leaving VW, turning Kia’s range of cars from stodgy to convincing in a few short years. But Kia is the junior partner in the Hyundai-Kia business, so Hyundai are obviously not totally thrilled that Kia managed to snaffle a designer who’s eye manages to so convincingly hit the Zeitgeist firmly on the head.

Skoda Fabia vRS 2000 concept

Fri, 03 Jun 2011

With the Wörthersee Tour celebrating its 30th annual recurrence and the VW GTi celebrating its 35th anniversary, the Volkswagen Group is having a huge presence at this year's show. The Group's Czech arm is showing a new concept dubbed the Fabia vRS 2000, which has been specifically developed and built for the event. Drawing on the Fabia Super 2000 rally car, Skoda's designers have created an original roadster pursuing a single goal: dynamism and the joy of sporty driving.
