New design boss for Land Rover
Mon, 14 Aug 2006By Phil McNamara Motor Industry 14 August 2006 10:39 Gerry McGovern – the designer credited with the MG F and original Freelander – will become Land Rover's new design director on 1 January 2007. McGovern currently leads Land Rover's advanced design department, a think-tank examining the future look and concept of the firm's 4x4s. He has also worked for Ford's North American brand Lincoln, as well as helping to create some stunning cars at Rover Group.

Mon, 01 Jul 2013World Rally champ Sebastien Loeb demolished the standing record at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on Sunday, with a time of 8 minutes, 13.878 seconds. He broke Hyundai driver Rhys Millen's record by 1 minute, 33 seconds. This morning, the full video of his run up the 12.42-mile hill was uploaded to YouTube.
2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee facelift revealed
Mon, 14 Jan 2013Chrysler has rolled out a facelift for the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the usual cosmetic tweaks, better interior and new 8-speed auto ‘box. Jeep has worked hard to make the latest Grand Cherokee a much more appealing road car than before, with car-like on-road manners despite still having Land Rover levels of off-road ability. The only real criticisms we can level at the current Grand Cherokee (which, coincidently we have in for review this week) is some cheap trim on the inside, a blobby infotainment system and an old-school, five-speed auto ‘box that really has no place in a modern, premium SUV.
