FOR AUCTION: REAR FENDER REMOVED FROM A NON-RUNNING 1977 BMW R100/7 MOTORCYCLE.  THIS BIKE HAS BEEN SITTING FOR YEARS.  COLOR IS BLACK.  THERE ARE QUITE A FEW AREAS WHERE PAINT IS SCRATCHED / MISSING, AS WELL AS SOME LIGHTER GOUGES. There's a game of musical chairs being played at DesignworksUSA, the BMW Group's design consultancy subsidiary. Starting December 1 this year, two key executives will be taking on new roles within the design consultancy, while the company's current President will be moving on to a new position within BMW Group Design. The first appointment is that of Laurenz Schaffer, currently Director of the Munich studio of BMW Group DesignworksUSA.

Miami trauma surgeon and preeminent car-crash researcher Jeffrey Augenstein would often tell the story of the time he was talking to a crash victim who collapsed and died from hidden injuries in the middle of the conversation. The experience led Augenstein to research and then call attention to the unexpected injuries that could occur when drivers interacted with airbags. It's but one example of the achievements of Augenstein, who died recently at age 64.
