This is a 1976-1977 vintage 7th Generation Chrysler Turbine free rotor motor. According to Chrysler, there were SEVEN made. 2 went into modified 76 Dodge Aspens, 1 in the Chrysler Lebaron concept car, and the other 4 went to Chrysler engineers for research & development.. I believe one of these engines is owned by an enthusiast, so that would make this 1 of 3 left. The block has a casting number of 3814102. There's a number on a pad of 3344101, and another pad with the number 3814278-6, possibly the 6th engine produced? This is one of the test engines, where the test probes are still intact. NASA provided technical administration & support to the Department of Energy on this program. The inside of the engine looks all complete, including the power turbine, the rotating regenerator, and all shafts, gears, etc to drive the accessory pulley and the output shaft. The front of the engine appears to have the air box missing, and not sure what else goes behind it, possibly the compressor turbine. I don't know what else is missing from the outside of the engine. This was an experimental engine, so I couldn't even begin to describe what's not there. The pulley spins freely, as does the rest of the engine, in sync. This is not seized up. This has been stored indoors for over 20 years. This could either be a project for the right person to complete it, or just to own a piece of Chrysler history. Either way, it's pretty cool! The transmission is just an empty case attached for display purposes. I can load this on your truck, or should be able to have it on a pallet for the shipper that the buyer arranges. I've been having issues with messages, so try KryslerKid at Y hoo if you're not successful. Thank you.

Mercedes A-class at 2012 Geneva motor show

Mon, 05 Mar 2012

Mercedes whisked the covers off the new A-class on the eve of the 2012 Geneva motor show. As predicted, it's a lower, sleeker, more Golf-like alternative to the Golf, sitting 18cm closer to thetarmac. These first official pictures of the new 2012 Mercedes A-class prove the 'tallboy' look is over for good and the production car closely apes the look of the Concept A-class.

And with that facelift for the Panamera likely to arrive in 2013, Porsche are aiming to keep up interest in the now three year old Panamera with a new limited edition Panamera – the Porsche Panamera Platinum Edition. The Platinum Edition Panamera comes with a platinum silver metallic finish on the air intake grills, bottom of the door mirrors, boot trim and rear diffuser and on the side vents on the front wing – just like the  Panamera Turbo – which have been added to the Platinum Edition.
