I was told this drive shaft was from a fourth generation Chevrolet Chevy Malibu station wagon stationwagon and that it would fit 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983 cars with a small block chevy engine that has a turbo 350 transmission and I think a 10-bolt rearend. U-joints look good and shaft is straight with no dents. Rear joint has grease zerk, sorry I don't remember if the front one does or not.
If this drive shaft is too long or too short, but it has the correct ends for your application, it may be easier and cheaper to buy this shaft and have the tube length shortened or lengthened.

Anyway, here's her dimensions:
1. total length: measure with drive shaft vertical on floor, from floor to tip of slip yoke is approximately 55 and 3/4 inches long.
2. from center of one u-joint to center of the other is approximately 49 and 1/2 inches.
3. the slip yoke measures 5 and 1/2 inches from the center of the u-joint to the tip of the slip yoke.
4. I counted 27 teeth if you include the one that is flat and used as a key to align with the tail shaft on the transmission.

It is your responsibility to make sure this works for your application.

Audi R8 LMX – the most powerful R8 yet – costs from £160,025

Sat, 10 May 2014

The Audi R8 LMX (pictured) is the first production car with laser lights The new Audi R8 LMX is actually the most powerful R8 road car Audi has produced, but they seem keener you know that it has laser beam headlights. But that’s because they’ve beaten BMW to the punch on the laser front. As a run-out version of the current R8, the R8 LMX has a lot to offer, with more power, more toys, a hefty price tag and a debut in the UK at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next month.

Aston Martin recall the majority of cars built since 2007

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

Aston Martin are recalling most of their cars from the last six years A recall by Aston Martin of 17,590 cars might not seem a big deal when you’ve seen recalls from the likes of Toyota running in to the millions. But Aston Martin is a small, bespoke make of high-end luxury GTs and Sports cars, and 17,590 cars is three-quarters of all the cars they’ve built since November 2007. The recall affects all left-hand drive cars built from November 2007 to December 2013 and all right-hand drive cars from May 2012 to December 2013 and is because of some less than kosher plastics in the accelerator pedal.

Alfa Romeo MiTo Maserati – the courtesy car

Wed, 27 Jan 2010

The Alfa Romeo MiTo Maserati - the Maserati courtesy car As you’ll know if you read here regularly, we like the Alfa Romeo MiTo. Sure, it has its faults (what car doesn’t) but it’s very stylish, remarkably well put together (certainly for an Alfa), fun to drive and holds its value well (which is a real first for Alfa Romeo). But it’s not necesarily the sort of car that would register on the radar of the average Maserati owner.
