Goodwood are using the new Ford Ranger as support vehicle at the Festival of Speed The new Ford Ranger is Ford’s latest pick-up and comes in a number of guises. Ford are supplying a total of six new Rangers is single cab, double cab and Thunder derivatives and, with its 3,000kg towing capacity and decent off-road abilities, it’s a good choice for Goodwood support. Plus of course it gives Ford a showcase for the new Ranger ahead of its UK launch in September.

Young women risking unsafe lifts

THOUSANDS of young women are risking their lives and safety by accepting lifts from drivers they don’t know or drivers who are under the influence of drink or drugs. Among young women aged 17- to 25-years old who don’t drive, it was found that 6% have accepted a lift from a stranger. That figure rises to 13% who have got into a car with a driver who has been drinking alcohol or taken drugs.
