Audi TT SUV concept: official sketches
Wed, 09 Apr 2014Audi is set to reveal an all-new SUV concept car based on the Audi TT at the Beijing Motor Show. The new Audi concept will be the second time the brand has floated the idea of a TT-style SUV this year, following the unveiling of the Audi Allroad Shooting Brake show car at January’s Detroit Motor Show. The new Audi SUV concept will have more of an ‘off-roader’ feel than the Shooting Brake, and so will take its styling cues from the Audi Q-model SUVs, as these images show.
Nissan Townpod concept
Mon, 18 Oct 2010Nissan showed off a fresh take on the urban vehicle with the Townpod concept in Paris. Part coupe, part commercial vehicle – according to a Nissan spokesperson we spoke to at the show – the Townpod concept features a clear product aesthetic and the inherent practicality of a van, without resorting to outright utilitarianism. Read our opinions of the Nissan Townpod concept in our 2010 Paris Motor Show Highlights, and see more images of the concept in the gallery below.
Video: Chris Bangle delivers “Empowerment: Design without Designers” talk at Creative Mornings/London
Wed, 09 Nov 2011Chris Bangle – the undisputed front man of car design – needs little introduction, so the prospect of the former BMW Design Director and now founder of Chris Bangle Associates giving a talk in our home town of London was too good to pass up. His presentation (which you can watch in full in the video to the left) touched on his time at BMW, but was more focused on the idea of empowering others to create: "design without you in the middle", as Bangle says. From the story of the co-creation of the staircase in his Italian studio to the idea of encouraging people to think about their culture when designing, his philosophies transcend disciplines.
