2012 Mercedes A-Class AMG caught on video in Germany We had the very impressive-looking Mercedes A-Concept at the Shanghai Motor Show back in April, and the less than impressive-looking new Mercedes A-Class patent drawings a while later. And now we have the first spy video of the range-topping 2012 Mercedes A-Class AMG caught blatting round Stuttgart. We had high hopes for the new A-Class – which will arrive sometime in 2012 – when we saw what Mercedes had done with the A Concept, but that turned to disappointment when the more prosaic patent drawings appeared.

VW Up SUV planned based on Buggy Up Concept Volkswagen are to add two new compact SUVs to their range below the Tiguan, expected to be the VW Up SUV and Cross Coupe. There’s no question that one of the biggest new markets for cars is the compact SUV. From the Nissan Juke to the Vauxhall Mokka to the Ford EcoSport there seems to be an endless appetite for butch little urban warriors.

The Honda CR-Z Concept will show at Tokyo in October Honda are also calling the CR-Z the first Sports Hybrid in the world. And to emphasise that point the CR-Z will come equipped with a real six-speed manual ‘box instead of the irritating CVT boxes most hybrids get. Which should make it a more enjoyable drive.
