American taxi hits 100

The rank gathered by The Design Trust for Public Space for its Taxi ’07 display include a lithium-battery powered taxi from Hybrid Technologies, and the world’s fastest taxi. Mazda Biante Granz

Mazda will be displaying the latest variant of the Biante minivan series at the 42nd Tokyo motor show. Called the Granz, the vehivle a specially designed ‘high-roof' version of the mid-sized MPV – measuring in at just over 1800mm in height. Visually, the Granz takes stylistic influence from the Kodo design language – in particular, the ‘signature wing' on the front fascia.

Hertz brings back rent-a-racer program with Dream Cars

In 1966 -- at the dawn of the horsepower wars -- Carroll Shelby made a deal with the Hertz Corporation to produce a line of Shelby GT350 Mustangs for rent. Later, the cars would be refreshed and repurposed for sale as GT350-H models. Just as the horsepower wars have returned, so has Hertz' rent-a-racer program.
