Wayne Cherry receives Lifetime Achievement Award at EyesOn Design 2013
Mon, 08 Jul 2013Renowned car designer Wayne Cherry was honored with a Lifetime Design Achievement Award at the EyesOn Automotive Design Exhibition at the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House, Michigan. The former GM vice president of design was chosen by a panel of his fellow designers for the honor after a 42-year career with the carmaker, during which he was involved in the design of over 80 concepts and more than 90 production vehicles. Only vehicle designers who have previously won the award are allowed to vote, with this year's panel including Chris Bangle, Walter de'Silva, Tom Gale, Giorgetto Giugiaro, Chuck Jordan, Robert Lutz, Shiro Nakamura, Chuck Pelly, Sergio Pininfarina and Jack Telnack.

Built on the same platform as the new Jeep Grand Cherokee, the latest iteration of the SUV features a unibody structure rather than the body-on-frame setup of its predecessors. The Durango has never been a particularly elegant offering within the Dodge lineup, but it seems the company is looking to change this perception with this latest incarnation.
Daimler-Renault alliance approved, report says
Tue, 06 Apr 2010An international alliance between Daimler and Renault has been approved by the companies' boards and is set to be announced on Wednesday, Bloomberg is reporting. The pact would allow the German and French automakers to collaborate on a range of products, including small cars, commercial vehicles and engines. AutoWeek first reported on the alliance last week.
