Porsche Steps Up Vintage Motorsports Activities
Sat, 18 Aug 2012With the famed Monterey Motorsports Reunion as backdrop, Porsche Motorsport North America (PMNA) announced Saturday it will expand from serving teams and owners of contemporary 911 race cars to providing a similar service to the large number of collectors of vintage Porsche race cars in the United States and Canada. PMNA has established a partnership with a new historic motorsports department that is now being established within Porsche AG's Motorsport Division in Weissach, Germany. The new department will provide expert restoration services to the Porsche Museum for many of the vintage competition cars the company owns well beyond the ones displayed in its riveting exhibition center.
Rolls-Royce Ghost (2009) prices and performance announced
Tue, 21 Jul 2009By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 21 July 2009 09:46 Rolls-Royce today confirms the full spec of the new ‘baby Rolls’, the Ghost. Although the final production car hasn’t yet been revealed, the prices, performance and other tech figures have now been made public. The Ghost, which is being shown at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show for the first time (the first four pictures are of the 200EX concept car, only the fifth, teaser photo is of the real production car), will be powered by a 563bhp 6.6-litre turbocharged V12.
Porsche Macan caught on video
Wed, 01 Aug 2012The Porsche Macan – a Porsche Cayenne on a boil wash – has been spied out testing and caught on video. We’ve seen spy photos of the Porsche Macan before – Porsche’s take on the Audi Q5 – and they look more like a cut down Cayenne being used as a mule for the Macan’s underpinnings than an actual Macan. But it seems that the shots so far are actually the Macan as it’s heading for production, which means Porsche has, perhaps unsurprisingly, chosen the 911 school of car design as its inspiration for the Macan and just stuck a Cayenne on a boil wash.
