Volkswagen Volkswagen has announced a Beetle Dune concept will take to its show stand at the 2014 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) next week – promising to bring a bit of beach buggy sunshine to the polar vortex chilled show halls of Detroit. So far VW has only released the pair of design concepts pictured here, but together with a few choice details you can clearly figure out what we’re dealing with here. The Dune is a Beetle that’s been given a rugged off-road makeover.

The new Ford Focus ST arrives – and there’s a diesel version too. Following a tease for the new Ford Focus ST earlier this week, Ford has now revealed the new ST – and the ST diesel – as Ford’s refreshed ST heads to the Goodwood Festival of Speed for its public debut today. Now available not only as a hatchback and estate, but with a petrol or diesel too, the 2015 ST gets lots of cosmetic teaks that match those the rest of the Focus range got recently.

Lamborghini seized in police swoop

A LAMBORGHINI worth around £300,000 was among the vehicles seized by police during a crackdown on uninsured cars. The orange supercar was initially stopped by officers in Newham, east London as it had no front number plate, and further checks revealed the driver was not the registered owner. The Lamborghini Aventador - which does 0-62mph in 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 217mph - was seized when police discovered the driver's insurance policy did not cover him to get behind the wheel of the luxury motor.
