Mercedes F125 concept (2011) at Frankfurt motor show
Tue, 13 Sep 2011Mercedes today unveiled the F125 concept car - a car bearing the three-pointed star's F name to demark it as a tech testbed, and the 125 to mark Merc's 125th anniversary in this four-wheeled business. It's a hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle, and Merc claims a punchy 1000km (620-mile) range. But the scientists here are proud of the cutting edge lithium sulphur batteries, used to store energy created by the fuel-cell.
2013 Ford Mondeo launches in China. UK & Europe still waiting.
Thu, 04 Apr 2013With the UK and Europe having to wait until 2014 to get the new Ford Mondeo, Ford has managed to launch the new Mondeo in China this week. Of course, as we reported last year, it’s entirely possible that with Mondeo sales now just half of what they were in 2008 that Ford may even move Mondeo production to Mexico to build it alongside the Ford Fusion, the US version of the Mondeo which has been on sale since summer 2012. But Ford are adamant the move to Spain for the Mondeo is happening and, once complete, will mean Ford finally rolling the new Mondeo off the production line by the end of 2013 for the UK and Europe.
Legally Binding: Senate proclaims July 9 collector-car appreciation day
Wed, 09 Jun 2010Now here's legislation we can all get behind: The Senate has passed a resolution designating July 9 as Collector Car Appreciation Day across the land. That's a Friday, meaning enthusiasts everywhere have a great excuse to drive to work in their favorite classic or vintage car--or to take the day off and simply drive. Or to wrench on that jalopy so one day, it will run again.
