BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupé revealed ahead of debut at 2013 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este
Fri, 24 May 2013The BMW Gran Lusso Coupe by Pininfarina revealed ahead of Villa d’Este Or at least it still does if you expect the new 8 Series to look like a two-door version of the next generation 7 Series, rather than a completely individual model like the old 8 Series. Underpinning the Gran Lusso Coupe is the same platform the 7 Series uses and the same V12 from the 760i, which makes it both easier to bolt the Gran Lusso together and imagine it as future production model. The exterior of the Gran Lusso looks a bit like a coachbuilt version of a big BMW coupe, with most of the BMW design cues intact – if sharpened somewhat – with short overhangs and a long wheelbase.
Range Rover LRX announced
Thu, 24 Sep 2009The Range Rover LRX will debut in 2010 and go on sale in 2011 We last reported on the Land Rover LRX last month, when it became pretty clear that Land Rover are pushing ahead with the project after receiving some Government funding for the LRX Concept in March. And it seemed that they were planning to show the RR LRX in June next year – 40 years on from the first showing of the original luxury off-roader – the Range Rover – in 1970. That now seems to be confirmed, with Land Rover stating the LRX will debut next year and go on sale in 2011.
Jaguar C-X75 reveal LIVE on Cars UK
Wed, 29 Sep 2010The Jaguar C-X75 will get the family nose On Sunday we reported that Jaguar would be taking a surprise concept along to Paris – the Jaguar C-X75 Concept – which is said to point the way to the future of Jaguar design. But is that the future of Jaguar design per se, or is it the future of Jaguar design for ‘Sports’ cars? We tend to the latter view, and are expecting to see a sports car that loses the traditional E-Type oval grill and is instead treated to a rhinoplasty which evokes the XJ nose.
