Hello everyone. Thanks for checking out my ebay listing with the option of shipping greyhound package express. As some of you may have seen in my listings that some of my items require this sort of shipping service. This shipping service simply saves you a LOT of money and in some cases is even faster than the normal commercial providers of shipping. Most likely the item being shipped is a lot larger than most items I sell. I’m trying to save you money on shipping at the expense of having your item possibly being delayed a few days and you having to pick the item up yourself as greyhound doesn’t deliver. Most large cities have a greyhound terminal local to them. And most of those terminals are equipped to handle greyhound package express. Greyhound package express is a very old shipping service. Actually it has been around longer than UPS and FedEX has. It was the first means of large package shipping that wasn’t freight.

How does it work? It’s actually quite simply really. You buy an item. I packaged the item up just like normal but instead of sending it UPS or FEDEX I simply take the item to a greyhound station and they take the package and put it on a bus. Much like normal luggage the package rides in the large compartments underneath the bus from station to station until it arrives at the closest greyhound terminal where the customer lives. At that point, the terminal it arrives to is supposed to call you and let you know that the package has arrived at its destination. At that point you show up and show proper ID, open the package to verify contents and take it away. It’s really that simple. The packages don’t really have a play by play tracking number like the other 3 big shipping companies (UPS, USPS and FEDEX). However it still has a unique number that can have it tracked in case it were to get lost. At these terminals there special storage for luggage and greyhound package express packages. So it’s almost impossible to lose a package. If that does happen then the only people to blame are the people behind the desk that checked it in at the last terminal.

How long does it take? Well I have seen large packages move from Ohio to San Francisco California in 2 days. I have also seen the same distance take 2 weeks. So it all depends on how far it’s going, and is there available space for the size of the box versus the customers riding on the bus. If for some reason the box is delayed it will just go on the next bus going to the next terminal on the ticket stub for that package. In the end I have used this service several hundred times. I have had packages delayed to the point we thought it was lost. Keep in mind I saved those folks over $200 in shipping. It’s well worth it, safe and does provide up to $300 insurance in most cases.

Jaguar Land Rover boss dies (2008)

Mon, 21 Apr 2008

Geoff Polites, Jaguar Land Rover CEO: 1948-2008 By Gavin Green Motor Industry 21 April 2008 06:53 Geoff Polites, who died yesterday aged 60, will go down as one of the great British car industry bosses. He took over as CEO of Jaguar Land Rover in September 2005, when the Jaguar half of the business was at its lowest ebb. Sales of the lame duck X- and S-types were fast evaporating; Jaguar was consistently failing to hit its financial forecasts; morale was poor.

Trailer full of 2014 Corvette Stingrays spotted on the road

Thu, 15 Aug 2013

If you're a Corvette fanatic dying to take delivery of that C7 you've placed an order on, take heart: There's a vehicle transporter laden with 10 (or is it 11?) 2014 Stingray coupes roaming the American southwest. Submitted by Autoweek reader Dan Becker, the photo doesn't tell us much about the car, but at this point we're all fairly well-versed in the details. Two different five-spoke wheels are visible -- most are black but we see at least one shiny set -- but beyond that, nothing is visible; the cars' tight wrappings don't even betray a sliver of the colors underneath.
