One Lap of the Web: Janky Jettaminos, scary supercars and a two-wheeled tour of the Packard plant

Wed, 12 Feb 2014

-- Our friend Corbin is back! And he's got an even more terrifying car this time: the Jettamino, a Volkswagen Jetta diesel with the structural stability of a pool noodle and the hipster styling of an LCD Soundsystem reunion tour on wheels. Contest: Mazda Design Challenge

Wed, 17 Oct 2007

The 'Mazda Design Challenge', launched September 27 exclusively through the social networking website Facebook, is enlisting help from Facebook users in the United States to compete to design a future Mazda 3. The winner of the contest will work with Franz von Holzhausen, director of Mazda Design in North America, and his team, to bring the concept to life, live on stage at the 2007 Los Angeles International Auto Show in November. Contestants submitted a 150-word description of their vision of the 2018 Mazda 3 including an optional sketch.

Monster Jam is totally rad

The reality is that the trucks aren't that big when you get right up next to them -- certainly not the Caterpillar 797-sized car-obliterators we imagined years ago. They're probably around 12 feet high at most; given current trends, they'll be eclipsed by heavy-duty pickups in a design cycle or two.
