Stig test drives motorway pub
Wed, 22 Jan 2014The BBC has released a video of the Stig test driving Britain’s first motorway pub, presumably as a way of promoting its new series of Top Gear. The video shows the Stig pull up at Beaconsfield services in a Vauxhall Insignia, before entering the Hope and Champion pub and posing for photos, and then ordering a pint of beer. The Turkish Grand Prix was about two different comings together – that of the fight between Red Bull and McLaren, but more significantly the meeting of Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel, who managed to meet on the track – in what looked like a Vettel mistake – whilst running first and second.
1965 Shelby Daytona Cobra sells for $7.25 million at Monterey auction
Mon, 17 Aug 2009The championship-winning 1965 Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe CSX2601 sold for a record $7.25 million on Saturday at an auction in Monterey. The sale is believed to be a record for an American car at auction. Bob Bondurant drove it to victory in the 12 Heures du Reims--fittingly on the Fourth of July in 1965 to secure the FIA title.
