Renault unveils R-Link tablet

R-Link features a seven-inch tactile screen, steering wheel-mounted controls and voice recognition systems. It is simultaneously connected to the vehicle's information and data center, the user's mobile phone and to the Cloud. The company claims that the bespoke UI features interactive and intuitive menus, which enable users to access all the car's functions and data easily.
Toyota's hybrid sales top one million

First launched in Japan in 1997, the Prius has racked-up 758,000 sales internationally, 13,826 of them in the UK. And a third of the 1,047,000 hybrids built by Toyota found homes in its domestic Japanese market.

Launched earlier this year and themed ‘Back to Basics – Making Cars for People, Not Markets', this year's contest attracted entries from an incredibly diverse range of schools and nations, including Israel, the Czech Republic, Australia, Taiwan, Canada and China.
