BMW and Zagato tease next collaboration

Fri, 17 Aug 2012

BMW has teased the first image of its BMW Zagato roadster, the second collaboration between the automaker and the Italian design studio, which is set to be unveiled this weekend at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Earlier this year at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in Italy, BMW unveiled its Zagato-designed coupe, which featured the carrozeria's signature double-bubble roof, the high, fastback Kamm tail and full, blown surfaces. The BMW Zagato Coupé was the first collaboration between Zagato and BMW, and was the first Italian-designed car to wear the blue and white propeller since the 2003 Bertone Birusa.

Infiniti JX crossover revealed at Pebble Beach

Thu, 18 Aug 2011

After a month of teasers and tidbits, the Infiniti JX Concept was finally revealed in its entirety on Thursday in California, ahead of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. The seven-passenger, three-row crossover concept is expected to appear largely intact as the production 2012 Infiniti JX next spring. Styling cues were obviously borrowed from the Essence concept, but the JX also seems to have a bit of Volvo XC90 in the greenhouse and even a touch of Mitsubishi Lancer in the front grille aperture.

Hyundai ix35 FCEV Hydrogen Fuel Cell heading for Copenhagen

Tue, 25 Sep 2012

Hyundai has announced that the Municipality of Copenhagen is taking delivery of 15 Hyundai ix35 FCEV as Hyundai roll out the FCEV. We recently reported that Hyundai are planning to have the hydrogen fuel cell powered ix35 – the ix35 FCEV – commercially available by the end of 2012, and that’s on track with the news that Copenhagen is taking fifteen ix35 FCEVs for its fleet. The decision by Copenhagen to take a small fleet of ix35 FCEVs is part of their quest to have a CO2-free city by 2015 (we assume that means all plant life will end), but the important thing is that running hydrogen cell cars round city roads will get rid of NOx and particulates – which is what really matters.
