British supermarkets have launched a new fuel price war which will see petrol prices dip down below the 130 pence per litre mark. Sainsbury’s was first to move, by cutting a huge 6p per litre off the price of unleaded – taking prices down to 129.9p. The revised Alfa Romeo plan that Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne is expected to announce next April focuses on a new, still unnamed rear-wheel- and all-wheel-drive architecture. A key aim of the new plan is to boost Alfa's global presence. "With our current segment coverage and our geographical footprint, we compete in about 5 percent of the global market," Alfa's European boss, Louis-Carl Vignon, said in an interview.

This year marks a milestone for the event, as a record 84 motor clubs have already signed up to attend. According to event management, this number beats the grand total of 77 clubs who attended the 2013 event.
