1984 Evinrude E40ELCR 40 hp 2-stroke outboard, something broke in crankcase of motor.  Slight damage on #2 piston.  Motor turns over by hand at the fly wheel.  No controls or cables, currently the lower unit is off and the head is off  the powerhead.  Also have a box of extra parts, flywheel, starter, complete wiring harness, and numerous miscellaneous parts.  Will deliver or meet within 100 miles of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, otherwise pickup only.

All used up: Pre-owned sales rise as consumers seek new-car alternatives

Used-car sales took a leap upward in April, and the trend is expected to continue at least until midyear as pent-up demand for affordable pre-owned vehicles jacks up at least one segment of the car marketplace. Sales of new cars continued an unabated slide toward what analysts say is a 30-year low in the United States, but used-car sales showed strength as buyers unable to finance new cars shifted their sights to less expensive used models. As a result, retailers such as the large Penske Automotive Group reported that despite an overall decline in sales in the first three months of 2009, improving used-car sales kept them in the black.

Tony Cervone, a top spokesman for General Motors as it battled bankruptcy rumors and won U.S. rescue loans, is leaving the automaker. Cervone, 46, will join UAL Corp., parent of United Airlines, as chief communications officer and senior vice president, United said in a statement on Wednesday.
