CAR tech: what's next for car interior design?

Your new car could soon be as thoughtful, powerful and communicative as KITT from the Knight Rider TV series. That’s the ultimate expression of the connected car, a trend which is intensifying rapidly. Over the next five years, car cockpits will be able to relay more information on bigger, multiple screens and through the windscreen, and you’ll be able to give commands far more intuitively thanks to voice recognition and gesture control software.

Toyota GRMN Sports Hybrid concept

Toyota is set to unveil its GRMN Sports Hybrid Concept II at the forth-coming Nürburgring 24-hour endurance race taking place this weekend. GRMN is an abbreviation of 'GAZOO Racing tuned by MN'. Gazoo being the Japanese motorsport specialist that has a loose affinity to Toyota following a collaboration on the iQ city car, whilst MN makes reference to ‘Meister of Nürburgring' or Hiromu Naruse; the Toyota test driver tragically killed behind the wheel of a Lexus LFA last year.

Peugeot 5008 revealed

The new Peugeot 5008 MPV / People Carrier - to debut at Frankfurt Peugeot has released details of their new MPV – the Peugeout 5008 – ahead of the official unveil at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. And yes, it does have a look of the TVG on the snout, and promises to be able to carry almost as much luggage as the nippy French train. A massive 2500 litres of space with all the back seats down, and a still capacious 823 litres in 5 seat mode.
