Part of the improved economy and emissions is down to weight saving – SEAT are claiming the new Leon  Ecomotive weighs 90kg less – low resistance tyres and improvements in aerodynamics of ten per cent.

Of course, since anything that can be remotely construed as a company car is already somewhere you’re not allowed to smoke, banning smoking in private cars is, perhaps, a logical step.
