Car thieves shun 4x4s

But 4x4s can claim at least one advantage over smaller cars; they are among the least likely types of car to be stolen. According to the latest Home Office Car Theft Index, just four in every thousand 4x4s and people carriers in Britain were stolen in 2006, compared to seven for Fiesta and Astra-sized cars.
General Motors says Magna's Opel bid has obstacles, RHJ's is easier to accept
Wed, 29 Jul 2009General Motors Co. says a bid for Opel from Magna International faces hurdles while a rival offer from Belgian investor RHJ International would be easier to accept. Writing on GM Europe's Web site, John Smith, GM's chief negotiator for the Opel sale, says Magna's bid "contained elements around intellectual property and our Russian operations that simply could not be implemented." Renew your photo card driving licence!
Mon, 07 Jan 2013Despite a fine of up to £1,000 for failing to do so, 2 million UK drivers are driving on expired photo card driving licences. Back in December, one of the Cars UK team had cause to hire a car – or at least try to – but was horrified to discover that his photo card driving licence had expired. A quick check across the team revealed one other expired photo card license and two who were still driving on the old pre photo card licenses.
