The Frankfurt Motor Show 2009 runs from 17th -27th September to the public Many of the Japanese makers will be conspicuous by their absence, but that should be more than made up for by the launches from the big European makers. And of course the Koreans – in the guise of Hyundai and Kia – will do what they’re starting to do in the market place and fill the gap left by the Japanese. Evoras are now running down the production line and will be up to full production levels by November. Lotus has an order book that fills the next five months already, and they’ve taken on 150 extra workers to cope with demand.

Mini catches a wave with Airstream trailer concept

Car companies are known for claiming their designs are inspired by racing or aviation themes. Mini is going in a different direction: the beach. The diminutive small-car maker has released more details on a design study that mates a modified Mini Cooper S Clubman with a 22-foot long Airstream trailer under a watersports premise.
