Renault Twin-Z concept (2013) first official pictures
Mon, 08 Apr 2013This is the Renault Twin-Z concept (say it 'Twin-Zee'). Although it packs the usual concept car madness of suicide doors, a pared-back cabin and LEDs everywhere, it actually previews the look – and drivetrain – of the next Renault Twingo. The big news is that it'll be rear-engined, rear-drive, and offer an electric option for less money than the £13k Renault Zoe EV.
Campaign for Fair Car Insurance Renewals
Mon, 30 Apr 2012Privilege & Zurich - 2 of the worst offenders in our small sample Cars UK are calling for Insurance Companies to quote their ‘Online’ price for car insurance as a comparison when insurance renewal letters are sent. Car Insurance is big news, with prices rising by 40 per cent in the last year according to the AA, and cash-strapped motorists struggling to meet the soaring costs of insuring their car. Shopping around for a car insurance quote is undoubtedly the best way to make sure you get the best price possible, but for many that’s difficult, and many older drivers want to stay loyal to ‘their’ insurance company.
BMW 7-series hybrid due in 2009
Mon, 07 Jul 2008By Nick Gibbs Motor Industry 07 July 2008 14:30 BMW will launch a hybrid petrol version of the newly unveiled 7-series in 2009, but admits it’s more for green-leaning V8 addicts than seriously eco-aware bosses. Even with the latest lithium-ion batteries, the forthcoming 4.4-litre V8 petrol-electric version will struggle to match the astonishing 39.2mpg and 192g/km of CO2 of the new six-cylinder diesel, especially when BMW will launch stop-start technology for the whole range within two years. The hybrid is likely to cost several thousand more than the £65,000 it’s estimated you’ll need to buy the regular, twin-turbo 750i that goes on sale in November 2008.
