Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 costs £58,995
Fri, 16 Dec 2011Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 - perhaps the best value for money super SUV Jeep has announced that the most powerful new Grand Cherokee – the SRT8 – will cost £58,995 in the UK. The 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee looks to be a very good effort from Chrysler, and it has a real fighting chance of seriously taking on the luxury SUV models from Europe. But one model really stands out – the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8.
Lotus Exige S Roadster Official: Price (£52,800) and Specs
Wed, 22 May 2013It’s the first properly good news from Lotus for a while, and looks a promising offering at the same price (£52,800) as the tin top Exige S and, remarkably for a convertible, actually weighing less than the hard top – although by only 10kg. The Exige S Roadster gets the same 3.5 litre V6 as the coupe which means 345bhp, 295lb/ft of torque and a 0-60mph of a very respectable 3.8 seconds, but it does lose the coupe’s rear wing and front splitter for better airflow. The folding roof on the Roadster is a manual affair, but Lotus say fresh air motoring is just ‘Two clicks and a roll away’, so the manual roof is probably the best – and lightest – option.
Tesla Model S turns in to Jaguar XF
Mon, 06 Jun 2011Jaguar XF - or is it a Tesla? Tesla seem convinced – or at least they’re doing all they can to convince the public – that the Tesla Model S is a soon to be reality, despite all in the industry saying they can’t deliver what they are offering – a high-end, luxury, high-spec sports saloon with a 300 mile range – for the sort of money they claim. That money – as we learned recently – is to be $69,500 for the Tesla S with the 300 mile battery, a price that’s had many scratching their heads over how Tesla can stick enough laptop batteries in the Model S to go that far, and how they can do it at a price that’s a good thirty per cent less than the ‘Lotus-with-batteries’ Tesla Roadster.
