GM expands credit union program nationally
Thu, 08 Jan 2009General Motors on Wednesday launched a nationwide test program that gives 90 million credit union members access to the company's Credit Union Member Discount Program with participating GM dealers. The "Invest in America" program also gives members access to financing on new-vehicle purchases. This follows a four-state Midwest program GM began early last month.
Cars of the future could be powered by seawater

According to Jalopnik, the US Naval Research Laboratory is turning carbon dioxide from seawater into hydrogen, with the hope of fuelling its jets from alternative sources. Audi R8 V10 sells for $500,000 at charity auction

At the third annual Boca Raton Concours d'Elegance in Florida last weekend, the Audi R8--the first one in the United States equipped with the 5.2-liter V10--was the winner in a charity auction, selling for $500,000, well above the car's sticker price of $180,000. Meanwhile, the Ferrari California was snapped up for $350,000, a bit more than the $225,000 sticker price.
