VW announces seven-passenger CUV at Detroit auto show

Built on VW's new MQB modular architecture, the CrossBlue was designed to both showcase the versatility of MQB (it also underpins the upcoming Golf, the new Audi A3, as well as SEAT and Skoda models) and illustrate that VW was serious about the seven-passenger market in the United States. Prior to the Frankfurt motor show, we took the CrossBlue for a spin.

The all things VW Group Festival that is the Worthersee Tour kicks off this weekend, so there’s a fair chance we’ll be seeing more pimped, tuned and titivated VW Group cars over the next few days. Vauxhall & Opel – no plant closures before 2014
Sun, 25 Mar 2012Will the new Mokka help GM in Europe Despite reports that GM Europe are planning closures at Vauxhall and Opel, GM boss says there will be no closures before 2014. GM in Europe are not having an easy time of things, with both Vauxhall and Opel struggling for sales as the car market in Europe polarises and the mainstream car makers struggle. GM have made some moves to consolidate their European operation with a co-operation agreement with Peugeot Citroen, but that deal has more of a sticking plaster feel to it than a real way to fix the issues of over-production in a difficult European market.
