Frankfurt Motor Show 2007 Trends and Overview
Mon, 15 Oct 2007The Frankfurt Motor Show is home to the European moguls of the automotive industry. BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, the Volkswagen Group, GM Europe and much of Ford Europe all have their head offices within a few hours drive of the Frankfurt Messe, so it's only right that these automakers would bask in the limelight. But instead of competing for bragging rights for the most powerful cars in the range, this year's motor show afforded automakers an opportunity to showcase their environmental credentials and their latest 'innovative' powertrain technologies.
The Jaguar F-Type's a closet Star Wars geek
Wed, 24 Jul 2013Our friends over at Jalopnik are currently at Jaguar F-Type media event over in Seattle, where they had a chance to catch up with its design Wayne Burgess (check out our full interview with him here), who revealed some interesting sources of inspiration for some of its detailing. The first is a real easter egg - a detail that once you've discovered it you can't help but see - the front lamp cans are based on Star Wars' TIE Fighter. What has been seen can not be unseen.
BASF launches car seat design competition

The contest asks for designers to submit their ideas for a car concept car seat using BASF materials and will be judged by three renowned industrial and automotive designers: Dave Lyon, former-Executive Director of Interior Design America for GM, industrial designer Konstantin Grcic and former Pininfarina designer Ken Okuyama along with BASF representatives.
