Durheimer succeeds Paefgen at Bentley, Bugatti

Porsche R&D chief Wolfgang Durheimer has been named the new head of Bentley and Bugatti to replace Franz-Josef Paefgen, who is retiring. Durheimer, 52, also becomes head of motorsports for the Volkswagen Group, beginning in February. Paefgen, 64, has lead Bentley since 2002 and Bugatti since 2007.

Jaguar has slashed prices across its range in Australia – by as much as £40,000 – as it fights for a bigger market share. But there’s also a feeling that all those years of protectionist import tariffs have inured Australians to the high price of luxury cars, and that car makers take advantage of that by keeping prices high, regardless of the level of taxes imposed on their products. Peter Schreyer to receive 2014 EyesOnDesign Lifetime Design Achievement Award

Peter Schreyer has been chosen by a panel of his fellow designers to receive the 2014 EyesOnDesign Lifetime Design Achievement Award. Schreyer, Kia and Hyundai's chief design officer and one of three presidents, directs the design strategy for the both Kia and Hyundai. He's the first non-Korean to hold the position of president and is one of the highest-ranking designers in the industry's history.
