Audi RS7 Sportback (2013) first official pictures

This is the new Audi RS7 Sportback, just unveiled at the 2013 Detroit auto show. It's an A7 Sportback given the hardcore RS treatment, meaning a 552bhp and 516lb ft 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 that will sprint the RS7 to 62mph in 3.9sec. That's faster than the latest Porsche 911 – it seems life just got a bit harder for the Mercedes CLS63 AMG and BMW M6 Gran Coupe.

Aston Martin to recall nearly 17,000 cars

Aston Martin has announced it is to recall 16,825 cars globally to rectify an issue that has emerged with the throttle pedal of its cars. Models built between November 2007 and October 2013 will be recalled, the firm says, because they “may exhibit a defect in the throttle pedal”. That seems to point to the McLaren 12C being allowed to whither on the vine as McLaren’s customers opt for the new 650S instead of the 12C – even with a price difference heading towards £20k – although officially you can still buy a 12C (although we hear 12C production has been halted). We hear McLaren have already built a number of 650S models and now they’ve even got the 650S Configurator up on their website so customers – and dreamers – can spec up their new 650S.
