GM 'will lose money' on the new Chevrolet Volt

The Chevy Volt was unveiled this week amid much hoopla at GM's centenary. 'I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a situation where we make money, particularly when you load all the costs in,' Fritz Henderson, GM’s chief operating officer, told Automotive News Europe, referring to the company’s first-generation technologies.

And Audi has come up with a traffic light recognition system they reckon could be good for a 15 per cent fuel saving. Sadly, Audi’s traffic light system doesn’t work by changing the lights to green as you get to them, but it is able to work out traffic light sequences and help you plan ahead.

Designed by Kia's European design team, led by Peter Schreyer, the No3 Concept showcases the Korean automaker's new face with the front grille, headlamps and brand logo in a constellation arrangement. But the most notable of the 4045mm-long concept's design features is its unique extended windscreen and panoramic glass roof with a diagonal supporting bar.
