IFR Aspid

The Aspid is a new sports car from a new car company that has just made its international debut at the British Motor Show. The UK is the biggest single European market for small sports cars, and the Aspid also has British genes in its typology that clearly stems from the Lotus Super Seven. Technical highlights of the car include an extruded aluminum chassis weighing a mere 75kg clothed in carbon fiber, a two-liter supercharged engine with 400PS, an overall weight of 700kg, and headline performance figures of 0-100mph in 5.9 seconds.

The Mitsubishi i-MiEV goes on sale in the UK in January 2011 As part of Mitsubishi’s wish to be thought of as the maker of eco-cars and the saviour of fluffy-bunnies and polar bear cubs, they’ve been pushing forward with their urban milk-float – the Mitsubishi i-MiEV – for all they’re worth. They launched the i-MiEV last year in Japan and have been softening up the public with bits of info this year such as the mad assertion that four policemen and all their kit would fit in an i-MiEV. Just as we’ve already seen, the F-Type is very much a driver-focused car with a cocooning cockpit and plenty of style and a mission to deliver a sports car with soul, looks and performance. Underpinning the F-Type is a lightweight aluminium structure with all aluminium double wishbones and a quick ratio steering rack, and all that stiff aluminium means a Jaguar that is 30 per cent stiffer than anything that has gone before.
