Bertone Nuccio

Fri, 24 Feb 2012

Bertone will launch its latest car, the Nuccio at the 2012 Geneva motor show. The car has been built for an individual private buyer, and named after Giuseppe Bertone whose nickname was Nuccio. Bertone says the car's surface language is representative of the brand's future identity, whilst the low, angular silhouette is an echo of the wedge shaped cars that helped define the design house.

BMW 328 Hommage Villa d’Este debut

Sat, 21 May 2011

BMW 328 Hommage - pays tribute to the 1936 328 The BMW 328 of 1936 is an legendary car in the annuls of BMW history. It set the highest average speed at the Mille Miglia circuit in 1940 at 103mph, and still holds the record today. It was one of the first BMWs to showcase the now familiar kidney grills, and it was made to be light and nimble with the use of aluminium and magnesium.

The Mini is 50 years old today

Fri, 08 May 2009

Today - 08/05/2009 - is the 50th anniversary of the first Mini rolling off the production line. To celebrate, and for a bit of free publicity (see, we’re playing the game) BMW has shipped the first Mini to roll of the production line back to Cowley to celebrate (picture at the bottom). 621 AOK, a Mini Minor, in Old English White, looks as fresh as the day it rolled off the production line half a century ago (although I wouldn’t mind betting it doesn’t have it’s original sills – they always rusted through – or copes with its original distributor and leads – one splash of rain and the car ground to a halt!).
