Tesla Model X Crossover reveal and Roadster dropped by year end

Tesla Roadster Production ends in December We revealed back in November that Tesla intends using the Model S platform to produce a Crossover come SUV to appeal to a more mainstream market than their current ‘Lotus with batteries’ Tesla Roadster. Having officially sown that seed, Tesla has now revealed that the Tesla Model X will be revealed – in prototype form, of course – by the end of 2011. At pretty much the same time as production of the Tesla Roadster comes to an end.

Italdesign Giugiaro’s latest concept peek [w/video]

Giugiaro has tweeted a mysterious video and second abstract image of its new concept car, due to be unveiled at Geneva next month. The video is just as frustrating as the first image the design house released, with very few details revealed. Savage Rivale develops telescopic roof system [w/video]

Savage Rivale has revealed its design for a retractable telescopic multi-panel roof system (RTMP) that will feature on its 2012 Road Yacht GTS supercar. The system features 4 panels with glass centers and carbon fiber frames that retract into the rear deck by a centrally-mounted telescopic arm. Its locking mechanism is placed within the C-pillars and is controlled via one central module.
