So the news that’s come with the first photos of the 2012 ML that we will see the big Mercedes SUV sporting a lowly four-pot is much less of a shock than it would have been a few years ago. But it’s much less of a shock because four-pot turbos have evolved to give us more than a six-pot would have done just a few years before, which makes a 4-pot in a Mercedes ML almost appealing.

Followed recently by the Q5, it has carved a niche for Audi that is standing up remarkably well in the current climate. But Audi are intent on capitalising on their 4×4 success story, and have today revealed that the next instalment – The Audi Q3 - will start production in 2011 at a SEAT plant in Martorell in Spain.

Four million drivers have steering 'out of line'

MILLIONS of drivers could be at risk of an accident and injuring others by having defective steering, according to new research. A study for Kwik Fit has shown that one in eight motorists (12%) say the steering on their cars pulls to one side or the other, and just under one million of those say that their steering pulls 'significantly'. The data reveals that younger drivers are more prone to this issue, with 25% of those under 34 admitting that their car pulls to one side, even on a straight road.
