Honda EV-STER concept car (2011) first pics
Wed, 30 Nov 2011Honda has recreated a Beat-style compact electric sports car at the 2011 Tokyo motor show - this stunning EV-STER concept car. It's tiny, at just 3570mm long and 1500mm wide. And those compact dimensions mean the electric powertrain doesn't need to be too big to power this two-seater sports coupe.
Toyota Yaris Hybrid (2012) first official pictures
Mon, 09 Jan 2012This is the new Toyota Yaris Hybrid, and although it’s been unveiled on the same day as the world’s motoring media descends upon Detroit for the 2012 North American International Auto Show, it's not there. Instead, the new Toyota Yaris Hybrid won’t actually appear until the Geneva show in early March 2012. Presumably the Toyota Yaris Hybrid is even cleaner and greener than the pious Prius?
Mazda Hazumi concept (2014) first official pictures
Tue, 04 Mar 2014By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 04 March 2014 06:00 This is the new Mazda 2 supermini, unveiled this morning at the 2014 Geneva motor show. Okay, okay, technically it’s the Mazda Hazumi concept, but the Japanese company itself openly admits this dinky little hatchback previews ‘ideas for its next-generation B-car’. Incidentally, Hazumi (no, not the cheese, but Hazumi) is apparently a Japanese word meaning ‘bound’ or ‘spring up’ so Mazda’s picked the name ‘to convey an image of a small but vigorous animal, bursting with energy.’ That’s right, and Mazda is using it to highlight its ‘Kodo’ design language, its SkyActiv fuel-saving technologies, and its MZD Connect infotainment system.
