I am not an engine expert and maybe you can help, but these are crankshaft camshaft?

They came off the left side of the engine if you measure it from sitting in the drivers side and looking forward, it would be the left side.

You get everything in the photo with little caps also.
The numbers on these read:
1742196 and 1742194

They come off of a 1997 BMW 740il 8cylinder E38 engine.
Please look at yours that you need, and compare the stamped number on them and make sure they match. I don't know what other years, but I assume it is a few years up and down from 1997.

THANK YOU

BMW takes the Active Tourer Outdoor outdoors this weekend

Thu, 11 Jul 2013

This weekend BMW will be taking its BMW Concept Active Tourer Outdoor to the annual OutDoor fair in Friedrichshafen, Germany. We first saw the concept last September, noting that it was a departure for BMW in more ways than one -- with the German automaker stretching itself into segments in which it previously had no foothold. The BMW Active Tourer is meant to preview a whole new generation of small cars from BMW, but one of the biggest changes underneath is a transverse layout of the engine -- a setup that BMW has traditionally shunned in favor of a longitudinal layout.

CAR BUYERS in the UK are an emotional lot and more let their heart decide which car they will buy rather than their head. Even drivers who think they make a decision using their head are often found to let more emotive considerations sway their final choice. In the Hiscox Head versus Heart study, common sense factors such as fuel economy, value for money and reliability are often over-ruled by heartfelt matters including comfort, speed and design.

This is the Audi A1 Clubsport Quattro concept, a 496bhp racing concept built for the 2011 Worthersee Tour. The Audi A1 Clubsport Quattro: A gift to VW Group fanatics Each year European VW fans gather on the shores of Lake Worthersee in Austria to celebrate their favourite brand, with an emphasis on the Golf GTI. VW Group has usually provided a suitably insane tuned Golf concept for the occasion, and on the GTI's 35th anniversary that would have been the expected option.
