Kia Urban Compact SUV Concept heading for Geneva Motor Show

Kia is teasing what looks to be an Urban compact SUV come crossover ahead of a reveal at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The market for funky, rufty-tufty urban crossovers started with the ugly bug (but appealing) Nissan Juke and continues apace with car makers rushing to fill a desire by car buyers for something butch and small to blat round urban landscapers. Now it looks like Kia re planning to get in on the act with a new urban runaround of their own, with the reveal of a handful of tease photos of a new concept they will be revealing at this year’s Geneva Motor Show in March.

Range Rover unveils Evoque SUV

Land Rover has taken the wraps off its new small SUV, the two-door Range Rover Evoque, as it makes a bid to appeal to fashion-conscious urbanites. The Evoque (not to be confused with the Cadillac Evoq concept from 1999) maintains virtually all the styling from the LRX concept that previewed it two years ago. The example shown at a the unveiling in England on Thursday appeared to be slightly smaller than the concept.

Drivers 'still prefer printed maps'

MOST motorists still prefer printed maps when planning car journeys, according to an AA/Populus survey. Older drivers are the least happy with sat-nav, with only 9% of over-65s ditching printed maps altogether. Overall, 63% of the 23,824 drivers polled have used a printed map in the last six months, while 60% have used an in-car sat nav.
