Offered for sale is a known good Ford ECM (Engine Control Module/CDI/Computer).
This is a fairly rare unit and is a must have if you are changing your Explorer from Automatic to 5-speed manual.
This was removed from my 1997 Explorer to try and diagnose an intermittent problem (which turned out to be shorted o2 sensors).
It did not fix the problem so I now have a spare module I do not need.
NOTE: This is for Manual transmission models only.
Exact vehicle it is from: 1997 Explorer XLT 4.0 OHV 5-Speed Manual Trans & BW1354 Transfer Case, No PATS system, mechanical odometer.
I do not know for sure what other years or models this fits but I think only 1997 as that is the last year of manual trans in an Explorer, and the 1996 and earlier Explorers have different electronics designs.
Definitely will not work with Automatic Trans, or vehclees with PATS security system.
